The Best Online Marketing Tool I've Seen in Years

The company is called LocalAdLink.  The concept is this:

  • Based on the IP Address of the web surfer … specific, targeted ads will be displayed when they search on Google, Yahoo, and like hundreds of other "partner sites". 
  • As the advertiser, you can choose which zip codes to “target”.
  • There are different programs that allow for a less expensive, less “coverage” experience … up to their biggest package of 50 zip codes.

So for example, if I am a real estate agent in Ocean City, New Jersey, I can choose up to 50 zip codes to “target” with several different keywords.  So anyone in those 50 zip codes will see my ads.  Why would I choose 50 zip codes if I sell houses in only 1 zip code (08226) … well, that’s a great question!  Here’s the answer … because Ocean City is a tourist area where many people buy second homes and search for vacation rentals.  I can select the 50 most common zip codes that vacationers come from!  So we know there is a large area around the Philadelphia region where the majority of vacationers live.  We grab up all those zip codes, so when they search online for real estate, they see US at the top of the list.  VERY POWERFUL!

There are MANY other great uses for this type of advertising.  Each industry and company has its’ own set of options and opportunities.  What are yours? 

LocalAdLink has a network of partner sites that range from Yahoo, YouTube, Facebook to The Wall Street Journal and …. GOOGLE!  Their packages range from $49 per month to $199 per month (as of March 26, 2009).
